Free CLE: Increasing Diversity in Alaska's Judiciary

The Judicial Council is currently reviewing applications for five judicial positions and will soon be soliciting applications for two more. This CLE will help demystify Alaska's judicial selection process - from the application stage to the Alaska Judicial Council's evaluation to the Governor's appointment. The CLE will also highlight the day-to-day lives of diverse judges.

This presentation will be moderated by Senior Justice Dana Fabe with opening remarks by Chief Justice Craig Stowers and will include speakers Marcia Davis, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Governor Bill Walker; Susanne DiPietro, Executive Director, Alaska Judicial Council; James Torgerson, Member, Alaska Judicial Council.  The judicial panel will feature newly appointed Justice Susan Carney, Alaska Supreme Court; Judge Marjorie Allard, Alaska Court of Appeals;  Judge Dani Crosby, Anchorage Superior Court;  Judge Herman Walker, Anchorage Superior Court; and Judge Jo-Ann Chung, Anchorage District Court.
