For the busy practitioner, the question is not whether balancing work and life is stressful, but how stressful it is at any given moment. The practice of law demands a great deal of time and attention, but professional performance can suffer at the hands of such a heavy stress load. With this in mind, we created this event to focus a different type of practice: the practice of yoga! "Focus Your (Yoga) Practice" will be centered around reducing anxiety, controlling stress, and developing your mind-body connection. Our goal is to provide you with tools to find a little more "zen" in your life, and help you carry that into your practice of law.
This one-hour yoga class for AAWL members will be hosted at Spirit Path Yoga & Wellness. There is no cost to attend, and yoga mats will be provided. We recommend work-out appropriate attire--something comfortable--and attendees will need to be prepared to remove shoes and socks for the duration of the session. The class will be suitable for beginners, with modifications available for intermediate or advanced yogis. No prior yoga experience is required!
A brief reception will follow. Because the room has a maximum capacity of 25 students, please RSVP using this Google Form. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify successful registrants and maintain a waitlist if necessary.
